Eidsvold Cattle Drive

Eidsvold Cattle Drive

Starts: Saturday, 16 April 2022
Ends: Saturday, 16 April 2022
The Eidsvold Cattle Drive rekindles the history of Martin Snelling, who in 1926 lit camp fires for hundreds of miles along the stock routes to Eidsvold. This event is primarily to raise funds for the advancement of rural, regional and remote health services, with proceeds donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, LifeFlight and Burnett Rotary Lodge. The Drive also showcases the agricultural industry, animal welfare and shares 'life in the bush' with the drovers. There are two lead drovers are the true Bushmen and cattlemen of yesteryear. This seven day, six night adventure will on average cover 15-20 kilometres a day in the saddle and at night camping under our glorious stars and enjoying our delicious meals with billy tea and camp oven meals around the fire. You can also 'leave the horse at home' and enjoy a week's worth of bush activities in Eidsvold. Poetry, cattle property tours, camp oven meals, local entertainment, leathercraft demonstrations and plenty more! When the drovers deliver the cattle to Eidsvold the town celebrates! A big day of horse demonstration, camp oven cooking, boutique stalls, farmer's challenges and concludes with the big bull ride.
