A heartfelt, clever and funny new tale based on two beloved Australian children’s books, Edward the Emu and Edwina the Emu.
With exceptional world-class puppetry, a beautiful original score and inventive storytelling, the award-winning Monkey Baa team are back with a hilarious and tender story of two emus searching for their identity.
Edward and Edwina both wonder if there is more to life than being an emu. Perhaps being a seal or a lion, or a snake is more exciting than an emu’s lot in life. Convinced the grass is greener in everyone else’s enclosure, the pair set out on an adventure to find their place in the world.
Follow Edward and Edwina as they hilariously navigate their own feathered existential crises, with their human keepers in hot pursuit to restore order to the zoo.
The emus’ journey of hijinks and tenderness lead them to discover that the best thing you can be is… you!
The performance (1pm, Thu 30 Jun) is Auslan interpreted, proudly supported by the Dalwood-Wylie Foundation.
