Dungog Team Penning

Dungog Team Penning

Starts: Saturday, 26 June 2021
Ends: Sunday, 21 November 2021
Valley Team Penning was formed after a group of riders found a need for a club in the Lower Hunter/Newcastle area. The first event held at Gresford in 2011 and was a massive success. The event is run over two days with Team Penning on Saturday and Arena Sorting on Sunday. The aim is to provide a safe environment for all members and families. It is a western equestrian sport that has evolved from farm and station work separating cattle into pens for branding, doctoring, or transport. It is a fast-paced event that gives three riders teams on horseback from 60 to 90 seconds to separate three specifically identified cattle from a mob and put them into a pen at the opposite end of the arena.
