Starts: Saturday, 06 August 2022
Ends: Sunday, 07 August 2022
Experience the rich diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, design and culture at the 16th Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF)! Returning August 5-7 to the Darwin Convention Centre on Larrakia Country, AND online, there are now even more ways to experience the Fair. The only national event of its kind, DAAF has secured a reputation as one of the country’s most significant and internationally recognised arts events. A space to come together, meet the artists, and ethically purchase from over 70 Indigenous owned Art Centres. The Fair showcases the work of over 1500 emerging and established artists and designers, from Australia’s most remote desert and coastal regions, to rural and urban communities. DAAF is FREE to attend, and 100% of all sales made go directly back to support the artists and their communities. Alongside the Fair, immerse yourself in the vibrant Public Program of traditional dance, workshops, material demonstrations and artists talks, and be sure to book your tickets for the renowned fashion events: Country to Couture and the National Indigenous Fashion Awards! Come and engage with the contemporary creations of the oldest continuous living cultures in the world. Supported by Tim Fairfax Family Foundation, Australian Government Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support, Australian Government Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, Australian Government Festivals Australia, Northern Territory Government, City of Darwin, Darwin Festival, Tourism Australia.
