Starts: Tuesday, 28 June 2022
Ends: Friday, 08 July 2022
Connect with the wondrous details of Victoria’s landscapes through digital immersion and art. Gain knowledge of native plants and their significance to First Peoples, and acquire lifelong skills in digital technologies. Working together, children and adults engage with native Victorian plant-life and develop skills in observation and digital botanical art. Opening with the award-winning immersive experience, River Connections, a film developed by First Peoples elders across Victoria, participants are encouraged to see the interconnectedness in all living things and learn how to recognise and appreciate the colours, textures, patterns and shapes in nature. Showcasing native flora from the museum’s Milarri Garden, participants will be taken through step-by-step instructions on using digital art software to sketch, paint and upload their own unique botanical illustration, acquiring lifelong skills in digital art technologies.

New to Common Times? Here's our Quick Start Guide to help you.

Common Times acknowledges the traditional owners, first storytellers and custodians of the land we live on. We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ongoing connection to land, sea, and community. Their sovereignty was never ceded.
