The Charlton Lawn Tennis Club holds an annual three day tennis tournament over the Australia Day weekend on 16 grass courts. There are Open, A, B, C and D grades in each event of mens and ladies singles, mens and ladies doubles and mixed doubles. A changing partners doubles event is provided on the singles day for those who do not wish to play singles. The 2022 event will be the club's 50th Annual Tournament, so a special invitation is extended to anyone who has been to any of the previous tournaments. Mixed doubles will be played on day one, doubles on the second day and singles, as well as the changing partner round robin doubles, on the third day; all events are on a round robin format, guaranteeing everyone at least three sets each day they play. The club has excellent facilities, an extensive shade area fully enclosed by a child-proof fence, with all catering provided over the weekend. The tournament has a friendly family atmosphere and Charlton is located on the Calder Highway and on either side of the Avoca River. Accommodation is provided by a bed and breakfast, two motels, two hotels, an en-suite caravan park and a caravan/tent park. There are a number of coffee/eatery options.
