Ends:
Thursday, 30 June 2022
After Dark at the Hyde Park Barracks will transform the World Heritage-listed site with art, talks, music and performances.
On 30 June After Dark will delve into the time-spliced, fragmented digital world of internationally renowned artist Daniel Crooks, whose latest work, Boundary Conditions, is on display at the Hyde Park Barracks.
Presented on a giant monolithic screen hovering in the forecourt of the Barracks, the installation is an ambitious video work that seamlessly weaves together an alternate world of disparate spaces and non-linear time. View Crooks' fascinating installation and enjoy an associated program that will take you on a visual and sonic journey.
Listen to a captivating talk featuring Daniel Crooks and Adam Lindsay, Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Living Museums, which will focus on Crooks’s artistic practice and process.
Composer and creator of the Boundary Conditions soundscape, Byron Scullin, curates a line-up of heavy hitters from the experimental music and sound art world who will perform across the site. Artists featured include Chris Abrahams, Clare Cooper, Robbie Avenaim , Gail Priest, Alex White and Nina Buchanan.
Try your hand at electronic music production with drop-in workshops facilitated by Hack Sounds in partnership with 107 Presents and Carlin McClellan from Play Anything.
Enjoy delicious food and drink by Archie Rose, OzHarvest and Nighthawk Diner.
